Trados 2022: "Save target as" does not create document in target language but in original language

Good morning,

I use Trados 2022, and it has worked well over a long time.

Now, however, I have two serious problems:

1. When I try to save a file, the errror message "Access to the path '...\.......\...' is denied" appears.
None of the solutions mentioned under https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000017192 solved the problem.

2. "Save target as" in Trados 2022 is no longer saving my translation into the target language but produces a document in the original language.

I have no idea what may have caused these errors to occur.

Should I not be able to find a solution, I may have to discontinue using Trados as my CAT tool.

Thank you for reading my post.

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details such as the exact steps you are following when the issue occurs, the type of file you are trying to save, and any recent changes you made to your system or Trados Studio. Also, mention the operating system you are using.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with Trados Studio 2022. Let's try to address them one by one:

    1. For the "Access to the path is denied" error, it seems like a permissions issue. Please ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the path where you're trying to save the file. You might need to run Trados Studio as an administrator or check the folder's security settings.

    2. Regarding the "Save target as" issue, it's unusual for Trados Studio to save the document in the original language instead of the target language. Here are a few things you can try:

Step 1: Check if the segments in your document are confirmed. Only confirmed segments will be included in the translated document.

Step 2: Try to preview the target document in Trados Studio. If the preview shows the translation correctly, the issue might be with the file generation process.

Step 3: If you're working on a cloud project, as mentioned in the context, you need to go to Batch Tasks > Generate Target Files to save the target files.

If these steps don't resolve your issues, it would be helpful if you could provide more information as suggested above.
