Post-editing with SDL

Hello, I would like to know how to proceed with SDL for proofreading tasks? Is it possible to import the source and target texts (delivered by the customer) simultaneously to proofread? Is machine translation available and spontaneously appears while translating (it was the case with the version I tried one year ago)? Or do I need an abo? Thanks! Best,

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide the exact version of the SDL software you are using and the operating system of your device. Also, it would be helpful if you could specify the steps you have already tried to import the source and target texts for proofreading.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

Yes, you can import both source and target texts simultaneously for proofreading in Trados Studio. Here are the steps:

    Step 1: Open Trados Studio.

Step 2: Click on "File" and then "Open".

Step 3: Select the source and target files you want to import.

Step 4: Click "Open" to import the files into the software.

As for machine translation, it is available in Trados Studio. It can appear spontaneously while translating if you have set it up in your project settings. If you haven't set it up yet, you can do so by following these steps:

Step 1: Open your project in Trados Studio.

Step 2: Go to "Project Settings".

Step 3: Click on "Language Pairs".

Step 4: Click on "All Language Pairs" or select the specific language pair you are working with.

Step 5: Click on "Translation Memory and Automated Translation".

Step 6: Under "Automated Translation", select the machine translation provider you want to use.

Step 7: Click "OK" to save your settings.

Please note that the availability of machine translation may depend on your subscription plan. If you are unsure about your plan, I recommend checking your account details or contacting Trados Studio's customer service for more information.
