Trados 2024 unable to open IDML file

Hi everyone!

This hadn't happened in a long time, and I have the "Process unsupported file types" box checked, so I thought I'd come to the community and ask if anyone has faced this recently and if you have a solution to share.

The exact error message is:

The selected IDML file was created by a newer version of Adobe InDesign which is not yet supported.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello Nora Díaz,

Based on your description, it seems like you're encountering an issue with opening an IDML file in Trados Studio. The error message indicates that the IDML file was created by a newer version of Adobe InDesign which is not yet supported.

Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Trados Studio. You can check for updates within the application.

Step 2: Try to refresh the File Type settings. You can do this by going to the File Type settings, unchecking the 'Process unsupported file versions' option, and then rechecking it. This action has been known to refresh the settings and allow the IDML file to be processed correctly.

Step 3: If the issue persists, you may need to convert the IDML file to a version that is compatible with your version of Trados Studio. You can do this using Adobe InDesign.
