"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details such as the version of Trados Studio you are using, the steps you have taken so far to retrieve the password, and any error messages you may have encountered.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

If you have lost the password for a translation memory in Trados Studio, unfortunately, there is no built-in feature to recover it. The password is there to protect the data and ensure only authorized users can access it. If the password is lost, the data in the translation memory is essentially locked.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Check if you have any documentation or records where the password might have been noted down.

    2. Contact the person who created the translation memory or any other users who might have the password.

    3. If the translation memory was created in your organization, check with your IT department. They might have a record of the password.

Please remember to always keep a secure record of passwords for your translation memories to prevent such situations in the future.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

If you have lost the password for a translation memory in Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.10.19084, and you have tried all the suggestions provided, unfortunately, there is no direct way to copy or export the translation memory without the password. The password is required to ensure the security and integrity of the data.

However, if you have a backup of the translation memory that was created before the password was applied, you can restore from that backup. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Go to the Translation Memories view in Trados Studio.

Step 2: Click on the "Restore" button.

Step 3: Navigate to the location of the backup file and select it.

Step 4: Click "Open" to restore the translation memory.

Please note that this will only work if the backup was created before the password was applied. If the backup also has the password, you will need the password to restore from it.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I understand that you're still having trouble with the password-protected translation memory in Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.10.19084. If you've tried all the previous suggestions and still can't access the translation memory, it's possible that the password protection is preventing access as intended.

Unfortunately, without the password, there's no way to bypass this security feature in Trados Studio. The password is essential to ensure the security and integrity of the data in the translation memory.

If you're still unable to find the password or access the translation memory, you may need to consider creating a new translation memory and populating it with new translations. I understand this may not be the ideal solution, but without the password, access to the existing translation memory is restricted.

the password protection preventing access is NOT intended.

Imagine if it was, and then it turned out to be easy for someone to open it.
