Error on export: "Source file is corrupted." ALSO: How can I clone a package sent by the client without overwriting the first one? (Trados Studio 2024 on Win 11)

I spent two weeks working on a package sent by the client. Everything worked fine. When I tried to export my finished files, I get an error and the message "Source file is corrupted, please try to resave it." I don't even know what I am supposed to try to resave. I also see that the xliff files in my source folder are not updated no matter how many times I save the files in the project inside Studio. Can anyone please help?

I considered just duplicating the project and populating from memory, but I don't want to overwrite the original project because "inside" it is fine and completed, I can even export bilingual files, so I think there is value in that project and don't want to get rid of it. I tried changing the name of the package file, but when I try to open it, it says that project was already opened, do I want to overwrite it? Which I don't. So I am stuck. Any help greatly appreciated, thank you,

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details about the error message you received, including any error codes. Also, it would be helpful to know if you have made any recent changes to your system or Trados Studio software.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you're dealing with two separate issues here. Let's address them one by one.

    1. Error on export: "Source file is corrupted."

This error usually indicates that the SDLXLIFF file you're trying to export is damaged. You can try to recreate the SDLXLIFF file by following the steps provided in the context. If the problem persists, it might be due to a bug in the software or an issue with your system.

    2. Cloning a package without overwriting the original one:

You can create a copy of the project in a different location on your computer. Here's how:

Step 1: Go to the Projects view in Trados Studio.

Step 2: Right-click on the project you want to clone and select "Create Project Package".

Step 3: In the dialog box that appears, select a different location to save the new package.

Step 4: Click "Finish" to create the package.

This will create a new package that you can open as a separate project without overwriting the original one.

Please note that these steps are based on the information you provided and might not fully resolve your issue. If the problem persists, you might need to provide more details about the error message and any recent changes to your system or software.
