Trados 2022 - "The object reference is not set to the instance of the object" error message appears after "PerfectMatch"

When I import xliff file into Trados, "The object reference is not set to the instance of the object" error message appears after "PerfectMatch".

Screenshot of Trados Studio error message. Batch Processing window shows 'Finish' with a task 'Apply PerfectMatch+Pre-translate Files+Analyze Files' failed. Error message in Chinese, untranslated due to instructions.

Operation as below:

Batch Tasks -> Prepare without project TM ->Add Matching file... -> Matching Previous Document from Folder

Then I choose the memory file that I saved before.

The operation is the same as before, and there was no problem before.

I would like to know how to resolve it to make I can go through the work smoothly.

Thank you.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

Based on your description, it seems like you're encountering an error message "The object reference is not set to the instance of the object" after running the "PerfectMatch" function in Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.11.19134. This error is usually related to a null reference, meaning that the software is trying to access an object that doesn't exist.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Close the dialog box and run the Perfect Match task from the files view. This can sometimes resolve the issue if it's related to a temporary glitch in the software.

Step 2: If the error persists, close and re-open Trados Studio, then run the Perfect Match task again. This can help reset the software and clear any temporary issues.

Step 3: If the problem still persists, you might want to consider updating your software to the latest version. You can check for updates within the application.

Step 4: If none of the above steps work, it might be a more complex issue that requires further investigation. In this case, you might want to consider reinstalling the software.

Please remember to back up your work and settings before making any major changes to your software.
