Get documents from sdlxliff

Question

Hola, 
 
 I'm using Trados Studio 2024 and I have lost a project because the source folder for the documents was renamed, but I have all the .sdlxliff documents for that project. Can I get the project? Or how can I get the bilingual or translated documents for that project? Can I get anything from the .sdlxliff documents?

 Do you still have the folder with the source documents? If yes, you can rename it back or make a copy of it and rename this to match the previous name. 
 However, if the source files were not bigger than 20 MB, you can create target files directly out of the sdlxliff files. To do so, you can either use the batch task "finalize" or the batch "generate target translations". Other option is use the batch "export files". Another one is&mdash;with the file(s) open in the editor&mdash;the option "File -> Save target as". 
 And you can use any sdlxliff file to generate a new project with it. The file will be treated the same way as it would be a Word or any other format. After the translation in a new project you should also be able to create a target translation, provided the source files were not bigger than 20 MB. If they were bigger, you will be notified by "Dependency not found" when opening the sdlxliff files for translation. In such case you need to point Trados Studio to the location of the source file. After you do that and the file is open, go to Project Settings (NOT: file -> options), select File types, chose sdlxliff and in the general section move the slider to the right to increase the size of the embedded file to what is needed or simply to the max. of 100 MB.

 When you attempt to save your target file are you prompted for the location of the original source? If you then just select it... assuming it's still there, just in a folder with a new name.
