Multiterm is not working properly - terms not recognised

Hello and apologies if this issue has already been posted.

Terms are not recognised in the source/target texts, and I can only search for terms in Multiterm.

When I try to add a new term to a Multiterm database, I get an error (please see the below screenshot).

Error dialog box in Trados Studio with a message 'Referencia a objeto no establecida como instancia de un objeto.' and details including a NullReferenceException error, source Sdl.MultiTerm.Core.Common, and a stack trace.

Any ideas to solve this issue? I'd really like to avoid reinstalling Studio 2021 from scratch.

Thank you

Antonio Contreras

    Hello Antonio,

Based on your description, it seems like there might be an issue with your Multiterm database. Here are a few steps you can try:

Step 1: Check if your Multiterm and Trados Studio versions are compatible. If they are not, you might need to update one or both of them.

Step 2: Try to recreate the termbase as suggested in the context. You can follow the instructions provided in the link mentioned in the context.

Step 3: If the problem persists, you might want to consider repairing your Trados Studio installation. You can do this from the 'Programs and Features' section in your computer's Control Panel. Find Trados Studio in the list, right-click on it and select 'Repair'.

Please note that these are general suggestions and the exact solution might vary depending on the exact error message you're seeing and the version of the software you're using.
