Wrong Quotation Marks and Default Language

Hi,

I had this issue since the SDL Trados Studio 2022. However, I upgraded to SDL Trados Studio 2024, thinking maybe it has been resolved, but the same issue persists.

I translate into Arabic. However, when I use my keyboard shortcut to insert quotation marks, it inserts quotation marks that are not used in my language.

I checked the default language through the font adaptation window, and I found that it is Afar Djibouti and every time I change it into Arabic, it becomes Afar Djibouti again.

Any ideas on how to resolve this please?

    Hello,

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with the default language and quotation marks in Trados Studio. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

Step 1: Check your keyboard settings in your operating system to ensure they are set correctly for your language and region.

Step 2: In Trados Studio, go to Tools > Options > Editor > Languages. Here, you can set your source and target languages. Make sure your target language is set to Arabic.

Step 3: Still in the Options menu, go to Editor > AutoCorrect > Smart Quotes. Here, you can customize the quotation marks for your language.

Step 4: If the problem persists, you may need to reset your Trados Studio settings. You can do this by going to Tools > Options > Reset All Settings. Please note that this will reset all your personalized settings in Trados Studio, so you may want to back up any important files or settings before proceeding.

Step 5: If none of the above steps work, consider reinstalling Trados Studio. Make sure to back up any important files or settings before doing so.
