Indesign 2025 compatibility

Hi
I am having issues with InDesign Markup compatibility in Trados. The 2025 files don't work in Trados. The only option seems to be that you have to install an older version (2024) of Indesign to be able to work in Trados. Do you have any other solution to propose? Translating Indesign file was THE reason for us to buy Trados. Thanks

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I understand that you're having issues with InDesign 2025 file compatibility in Trados. Trados Studio is designed to be compatible with a wide range of file types, including InDesign files. However, there can be issues when dealing with newer versions of InDesign files.

Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Ensure you're using the latest version of Trados Studio. Updates often include compatibility improvements for newer file types.

Step 2: If you're already using the latest version of Trados Studio and still experiencing issues, try converting the InDesign files to IDML format. Trados Studio has better support for IDML files, and this could help you bypass the compatibility issue.

Step 3: If the issue persists, you might want to consider using the "Process Unsupported File Versions" option in Trados Studio. This option allows Trados Studio to process newer file versions that it doesn't officially support yet.

Please note that these are general suggestions and the effectiveness might vary depending on the specific issue you're facing. If none of these steps resolve your issue, it would be helpful to have more information about the error message you're receiving and the exact version of Trados Studio you're using.

  • Have you activated the option "Process unsupported versions" in the InDesign file type in your project template prior to adding the file to the project? This should work.
