My Trados Studio 2022 crashed and now will not open despite trying to restart several times

When I try to open the Trados Studio 2022 app, I get an error message saying "Failed to initialize view 'ProjectsView'". I have tried to restart my computer several times on different days. It will just not open anymore.

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more information about your operating system and its version, any recent changes to the system or software, and the exact error message including any error codes.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2022. Based on the error message you're receiving, it seems like there might be an issue with the initialization of the 'ProjectsView'. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Close Trados Studio 2022 if it's open.

Step 2: Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously to open the Run dialog box.

Step 3: Enter %temp% in the field and press Enter. This will open the Temp folder.

Step 4: Delete all files and folders in the Temp folder. These are temporary files and can be safely deleted.

Step 5: Optionally, you can turn off User Account Control (UAC) via Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control Settings, and set it to No notification.

Step 6: Reset Trados Studio settings files as instructed in the RWS Support article 'Resetting the settings files for Trados Studio and running a repair'.

Step 7: If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Trados Studio 2022.

Please note that these steps are general troubleshooting steps and might not resolve your specific issue. If the problem persists after trying these steps, it would be helpful to know more about your operating system and its version, any recent changes to the system or software, and the exact error message including any error codes.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

    Try a reset.

To do this just close Trados Studio and then delete these folders:

    %appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\

    %appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\

You will lose your plugins, and also your settings, but your projects and other resources will remain untouched. Putting the plugins back is trivial via the integrated appstore.

If you can't find these folders then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../

Then restart Trados Studio and see if that helped.
