Problem with Studio 2024. All projects have disappeared from list

Good morning. I have opened by Studio 2024 app and my project is empty. If I click Open Project, and try to open from there, I get an error messiage "Could not determine file version".

If I go to the project file folder in Windows Explorer, I get the message that you can see in the screenshot below.

As I have a deadline (!!), can you please help to get back to my normal list of projects?

Thank you.

Trados Studio error window showing 'Error processing command line arguments: An error occurred whilst trying to determine the file version' with usage instructions for various tasks.

Question improvement suggestion: Please provide the exact version of Trados Studio 2024 you are using, any recent changes made to your system, and the operating system version.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

    Step 1: Check for Updates

Ensure that your Trados Studio 2024 is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, issues can arise from using outdated software. You can check for updates within the application.

    Step 2: Verify Project Files

Make sure that the project files you are trying to open are not corrupted. You can do this by checking if you can open other project files or creating a new project to see if the issue persists.

    Step 3: Review Error Message

The error message "Could not determine file version" suggests that there may be a compatibility issue with the project files. Ensure that the project files were created in the same version of Trados Studio you are currently using.

    Step 4: Check File Permissions

Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the project files. Right-click on the project folder in Windows Explorer, select Properties, and check the Security tab to ensure your user account has access.

    Step 5: Restart the Application

Sometimes, simply restarting Trados Studio can resolve temporary glitches. Close the application completely and reopen it to see if your projects reappear.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide additional details such as the exact version of Trados Studio 2024, any recent changes made to your system, and the operating system version for further assistance.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
