    Hello,

It seems you are encountering an issue with the error message "An error occurred extracting the package. Cannot find central directory" when your translator tries to open a package in Trados Studio 2019. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Updates**

Ensure that your version of Trados Studio 2019 is updated to the latest version, as this issue has been addressed in later updates. You can check for updates by going to Help > Check for Updates within the application.

**Step 2:** **Re-translate the Original Package**

If the package is damaged, you may need to re-translate the original export package. Follow the procedure to apply a perfect match batch using the damaged SDLXLIFF file from the return package. Make sure to select the source file when prompted for the dependency file.

    **Step 3:** **Remove Problematic Files**

If the issue persists, consider removing the `*.tbx` and `xcs.xml` files from the package. You can do this by renaming the WSXZ package to `*.zip`, extracting it, deleting the problematic files, and then compressing the remaining files back into a new WSXZ package.

    **Step 4:** **Check Security Software**

Sometimes, security software can interfere with file downloads. If you suspect this might be the case, try temporarily disabling your security software while downloading the package.

**Step 5:** **Manual Installation of Components**

If you continue to experience issues, ensure that all necessary components for Trados Studio 2019 are installed correctly. You can find the installers in the Package Cache on your computer.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to reach out to RWS Support for further assistance.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you are trying to create new packages in Trados Studio but are encountering issues. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and create a working package:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Updates**

Ensure that your version of Trados Studio is updated to the latest version. You can check for updates by going to Help > Check for Updates within the application. This can resolve many compatibility issues.

**Step 2:** **Create a New Package**

If you are facing issues with the current package, try creating a new package by following these steps:

    1. Unzip the *.sdlppx package using a tool like 7Zip or by renaming it to *.zip and extracting it.

    2. Navigate to the extracted folder and locate the subfolder that has the same name as the package.

    3. Open that subfolder to find the actual project file with the *.proj extension.

    4. Copy the project file and paste it into the main folder (the one containing the source and target language folders).

    5. Delete the subfolder.

    6. Select the source and target language folders along with the project file, and compress them into a new ZIP file.

    7. Rename the ZIP file to have the *.sdlppx extension.

    8. Open the new package in Trados Studio.

**Step 3:** **Check for Dependency Files**

If you encounter an error related to missing dependency files, ensure that you are embedding the necessary source files when prompted. Always click "Yes" and browse for the initial source file.

    **Step 4:** **Review Security Software**

Sometimes, security software can interfere with file downloads or package creation. If you suspect this might be the case, try temporarily disabling your security software while creating or downloading the package.

**Step 5:** **Manual Installation of Components**

If issues persist, ensure that all necessary components for your version of Trados Studio are installed correctly. You can find the installers in the Package Cache on your computer.

If you continue to experience issues, please provide more details about the specific error message or behavior you are encountering when creating new packages. This will help in providing a more tailored solution.
