In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I understand that you're experiencing the "Parameter is not valid" error and that your keyboard is unresponsive while using Trados. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    **Step 1:** **Repair Installation**

    1. Close all RWS applications.

    2. Open the Control Panel and navigate to 'Programs and Features'.

    3. Select Trados Studio, right-click, and choose 'Uninstall/Change', then select 'Repair'.

    4. Restart Trados Studio and check if the issue persists.

    **Step 2:** **Reset Basic Settings**

    1. Close all RWS applications.

    2. Navigate to `C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio` in File Explorer.

    3. Rename the 'Studio17' folder to 'Studio17_old'.

    4. Restart Trados Studio.

    **Step 3:** **Check for Updates**

Make sure you are using the latest version of Trados Studio. Check for updates within the application to ensure you have the most recent fixes and improvements.

    **Step 4:** **Font Settings**

If you are working with Japanese text, try resetting the font from 'Arial' to the default setting, as this has resolved similar issues for other users.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide more details about the specific actions leading to the error, and I will be happy to assist you further.

  • Tried the "Repair" step, and while it worked for a few days, the error came up again, but now, no matter how many times I close Trados, the keyboard is blocked.
