Batch Task ‘Finaliser’ Missing in Trados Studio 2022 Pro (French version) Despite Reinstall and Repair

Hello,

I am encountering a persistent issue with Trados Studio 2022 Pro (version Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.12.19268 (in French)) where the batch task “Finaliser” does not appear in the batch task list for any project, including those created from the default SDL translation templates. It started when I began using the update from bilingual files.

I've:

  • Created new projects with the default SDL templates and my custom template.

  • Checked and customised batch task sequences for files; “Finaliser” is missing and cannot be added manually.

  • Deleted and reset user settings (UserSettings.xml).

  • Fully repaired and reinstalled Trados Studio 2022 Pro.

  • Verified project types are standard translation projects, not bilingual review.

  • Tested with new simple source files to eliminate file corruption issues.

What happens:

  • The “Finaliser” batch task is never available or visible under “Tâche en mode batch” > “Séquence de tâches” > “Personnaliser la séquence.”

  • This occurs across all projects and templates on my installation.

What I expected:

  • “Finaliser” should be available by default in batch task profiles for translation projects, enabling me to complete workflows.

Additional details:

  • I am running the software on Windows 11 with administrative privileges.

  • License type: Trados Studio 2022 Professional.

Could you please advise if this is a known issue, and if so, provide any solutions or workarounds? Any assistance to restore the “Finaliser” batch task would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hello,

It seems you are experiencing a frustrating issue with the missing "Finaliser" batch task in Trados Studio 2022 Pro. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot this problem:

    **Step 1:** Verify Project Settings

    - Ensure that your project settings are correctly configured. Go to **Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Batch Processing** and check if the "Finaliser" task is enabled in the batch task list.

    **Step 2:** Check for Updates

    - Make sure that your Trados Studio is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve issues related to missing features. Check for updates within the application.

    **Step 3:** Reset User Settings

    - Since you have already deleted and reset the UserSettings.xml, ensure that you have completely reset all user settings. You can do this by renaming the folder located at `C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17` to something like `Studio17_old` and then restarting Trados Studio.

**Step 4:** Create a New Project

    - Try creating a new project from scratch using the default SDL translation templates. This can help determine if the issue is project-specific.

    **Step 5:** Reinstall Trados Studio

    - If the problem persists, consider uninstalling Trados Studio completely, ensuring that all related files are removed, and then reinstalling it. This can sometimes resolve deeper issues.

    **Step 6:** Contact Support

    - If none of the above steps work, it may be beneficial to reach out to RWS Support for further assistance, as this could be a known issue that requires a specific fix.
