Retrofit Error

Hi,

I was so happy 4 hours ago when I finally activated my Studio 2015 upgrade license. I thought I'd be able to finally easily update my tms with by importing my finalized target Word or Excel documents.

Unfortunately it does not seem to work. Such a pity.

I watched the tutorial on "Retrofit" and did as shown.

When i reach the step where I want to update the sdlxliff file, I get a long error message (that I had to retype:

Sdl.Core.processing.Alignment.Api.ReverseAlignmentUpdateResults Sdl.Core.Processing.Alignment.Api.AlignmentService.UPdateXliffWithReversedAlignedPackage(System.String, System.String, System.Globalization.CultureInfo, Sdl.LanguagePlatform.Core.Resources.lResourceDataAccessor, System.Collections.Generic.List'1<Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Framework BilingualApi.lBilingualContentProcessor>, System.EventHandler'1<Sdl.Core.Processing.Alignment.Api.SdlAlignPackageProgressEventArgs'1>Sdl.Core.Processing.Alignment.Api.UPdateSdlxliffPhase>>, System.EventHandler'1<Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Framework.IntegrationApi.MessageEventArgs>)'.

I've deleted all the comments in the files. I don't know why this is not working. Can you help? thanks!

Is it useful to say that I tried to do this on files that had been processed with SDL Studio 2014? When I activated SDL 2015, it imported all my project structure from Studio 2014. I hence assumed that I would be able to use this feature...

  • Hi Isabelle,

I'd recommend you raise a support ticket if you're having problems like this.

    Go to the Knowledgebase and then go to the tab called Solution Finder and now go here;

    Download & Installation Problems
    - I use SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL MultiTerm 2009, 2011, 2014 or 2015
-- The installation went fine but now I get an error message etc
--- The problem occurs in (pick the appropriate tool/s)
---- None of the articles resolved my problem (if they didn’t!)

Follow the route for your problem and if there is no answer that helps by the time you get to the end you'll be presented with a form to contact support. Complete all the fields in the form making sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul. I've just received an answer from SDL Support that this is a known issue in this latest SR1 release. The defect is logged under LTB-825 and it should be fixed in the next Studio 2015 update.

I'm copying the message received from SDL support, as it might be useful to someone else having the same problem.

"Until the permanent fix is put in place, please downgrade your Studio 2015 to the previous update to get around the error. To downgrade please follow the steps bellow:

    1. Close all SDL applications.
    2. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
    3. Click View installed updates located on the upper left side of the dialog.
    4. Locate in the list of installed update the following entry: SDL Trados Studio 2015 - Service Release 1
    5. Select/highlight Service Release 1
    6. Uninstall Service Release 1
    7. Create your AutoSuggest Dictionary."
    regards, isabelle.

I haven't tried it yet, but will do so soon.
