Can anyone help with converting an 'mqxlz' xliff file to a target text xml file on trados?
The orginial file wouldn't open on Trados due to 'dita' issues. The file was then cleaned on MemoQ, then re-opened on Trados.
The issue now is saving the target text an in xml format.
Does anyone have any ideas how this can be done??

If it was cleaned in memoQ you surely have the xml from there? You cannot clean an mqxlz in Trados because it was created in memoQ. So you can only get the clean file out of memoQ.
Or am I misunderstanding the process here?

So, when I try to save the target as xml, for some reason it is saving as an mqxlz file again, instead of xml?
I think you explained it well then. If you have an mqxlz this is because it was created in memoQ. Presumably it was created from the original XML since you had a problem with the XML in Trados Studio?
But because it was memoQ that created the bilingual file for translation the sequence of events was probably this:
XML -> memoQ (MQXLIFF) -> exported as MQXLZ -> Trados Studio (SDLXLIFF)
At this point you now have a file, which if you think about the file extensions would be this (sort of):
filename.xml.mqxliff.sdlxliff
To get the "clean" file you have to go backwards from where you came.
And I think that's what you want.

I did actually put the file I created from Trados back into memoq and got the xml file!
So, is that the only way it would work (as in the file can be worked in Trados, but the only way to get that xml is to go back to Memoq - it won't ever be possible in Trados in any way?).
