When starting Studio 2022, I get the error message "Failed to add window command bar extensions." I have searched the Knowledge Base and tried all the solutions mentioned in the different answers there. To no avail. Can somebody please help me get Studio working again?

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any recent changes made to your system or software.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you're encountering the "Failed to add window command bar extensions" error when starting Trados Studio 2022. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Close Trados Studio completely.

**Step 2:** Navigate to the following directory based on your version:

    - For Trados Studio 2022: `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Platform\Identity`

    - If you can't find the path, ensure that hidden items are visible in Windows File Explorer.

    **Step 3:** Rename the folder `SDLTrados Studio.exe` to `SDLTrados Studio.exe-old`.

**Step 4:** Restart Trados Studio and check if the issue persists.

**Step 5:** If the problem continues, you may want to try renaming the Plugins folder. Navigate to:

    - For Trados Studio 2022: `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17`

    - Rename the `Plugins` folder to `Plugins_old`.

**Step 6:** Optionally, you can run a repair installation of Trados Studio. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select Trados Studio 2022, and choose the Repair option.

**Step 7:** After performing these steps, restart your computer and then try launching Trados Studio again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please consider reinstalling Trados Studio by uninstalling it from the Control Panel and then downloading the latest version from the RWS AppStore.
