Error message: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created.

I have Trados Studio 24 Freelance. For the past month or so I have not been able to work on individual files. I open the file I want to translate, and the above error message appears. Then I translate a segment, and when I confirm it the program shuts down.

I have googled the error message and what I find is miles over my head. Can anyone help?

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific steps you have already taken to troubleshoot the issue, and mention your operating system version.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with Trados Studio 24 Freelance. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the error message and the crashes you're encountering:

    **Step 1:** Restart Trados Studio

    - Close Trados Studio completely and then reopen it. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

    **Step 2:** Check for Updates

    - Ensure that you have the latest updates for Trados Studio 24. You can check for updates within the application.

**Step 3:** Disable Automatic Reopening of Documents

    - Go to **File > Options > Editor** and disable the option for "Automatically re-open previously edited documents." This has helped some users avoid similar issues.

    **Step 4:** Recreate the Project

    - If the problem persists, consider recreating the project. Use the Pre-translate Files batch task with your Translation Memory to retrieve previously translated segments.

    **Step 5:** Clear Temporary Files

    - Close Trados Studio, press the Windows and R keys together, type `%temp%`, and delete as many files and folders as possible.

    **Step 6:** Check Anti-Virus Settings

    - Add exceptions for the file extensions used by Trados Studio (*.sdlppx, *.sdlproj, etc.) in your Anti-Virus/Firewall settings to prevent interference.

**Step 7:** Reset Trados Studio Settings

    - If none of the above steps work, you may want to reset Trados Studio to its default settings. This can be done by renaming or deleting specific folders related to your installation.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please provide more details about your operating system and any other troubleshooting steps you've already taken. This will help in diagnosing the problem further.
