Error saving documents

How can I fix an error for saving documents "Access to the path C:\Users\saraf\OneDrive\Documents\Studio2021\AutoSave\a7a1618d-6547+49c3-8b57-56063e384c12 is denied". I have tried all the workarounds on your website, but none of them have worked.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any recent changes to your system or software that may have affected the saving process.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

To resolve the "Access to the path is denied" error when saving documents in Trados Studio, please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Run Trados Studio as an administrator. Right-click on the Trados Studio icon and select 'Run as administrator' to ensure it has the necessary permissions.

**Step 2:** Check your OneDrive settings. Since the error mentions a path in OneDrive, consider moving your Trados Studio project files out of the OneDrive directory and saving them locally on your computer. This can help avoid permission issues related to cloud storage.

**Step 3:** Disable the Auto Save feature. Go to `File > Options > Editor` and uncheck 'Enable Auto Save' to prevent any conflicts with the Auto Save function.

**Step 4:** Verify folder permissions. Navigate to the AutoSave folder mentioned in the error message (C:\Users\saraf\OneDrive\Documents\Studio2021\AutoSave) and check the folder's properties. Ensure your user account has full control over this folder.

**Step 5:** Close any applications that might be using the file. Sometimes, other applications can lock files, preventing Trados Studio from saving changes.

**Step 6:** If you have antivirus software, add exceptions for Trados Studio folders to ensure they are not being blocked. This includes paths like C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados and C:\Users\%USERNAME%\App Data\Local\Temp.

**Step 7:** If the issue persists, consider resetting Trados Studio to its default settings. You can do this by renaming the relevant folder in `C:\Users\%username%\App Data\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio` (e.g., rename the folder for your version of Trados).

If you continue to experience issues, please provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any recent changes to your system or software for further assistance.

The AI suggestion goes in the right direction. Disable OneDrive synchronisation for  C:\Users\saraf\OneDrive\Documents\Studio2021. You can also try to activate the option "Always keep on the local computer" for this path and all subfolders and files there. In my case the latter option is enough.
