Since SR1 installation, Trados Studio 2024 crashes frequently during translation without any error message

I recently installed the SR1 update in order to be up to date. Unfortunately, this was the worst thing I could do, because since then, I can no longer work with it, as the program keeps on crashing very frequently (every few minutes, sometimes in longer, sometimes in shorter intervals). No error message is shown. I am obliged to work on Studio 2019 now for my projects, since with the new up to date software it is no longer possible. Please help! It is really a pity to publish updates that make things much worse instead of better!

Thanks for your help.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about your operating system and the exact version of Trados Studio you are using, as well as any troubleshooting steps you have already attempted.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing frequent crashes with Trados Studio 2024 after the SR1 installation. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

**Step 1:** **Check for Windows Updates**

Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. You can do this by typing "Check for Updates" in the Windows search bar and installing any available updates.

**Step 2:** **Repair Your Trados Studio Installation**

You can repair your installation by going to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, selecting Trados Studio, and choosing the Repair option.

**Step 3:** **Verify .NET Framework Installation**

Ensure that you have .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later installed, as Trados Studio 2024 requires .NET Framework 4.8 or later. You can check this in the Windows Features settings.

    **Step 4:** **Refresh .NET Framework**

To refresh your .NET Framework installation, go to Windows Features, uncheck the .NET Framework version, restart your computer, then re-enable it and restart again.

**Step 5:** **Check for Corrupted Translation Memory (TM) or Termbase**

If the crashes occur at specific segments, try disabling your TMs and termbases one by one to identify if any of them are corrupted. If you find a corrupted TM or termbase, you will need to recreate it.

    **Step 6:** **Store Resources Locally**

If your translation resources are stored on a shared drive or cloud service, try moving them to your local drive and see if the crashes persist.

**Step 7:** **Reset Trados Studio to Default Settings**

If the issue continues, consider resetting Trados Studio to its default settings. This can often resolve various issues related to installation problems.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to consider rolling back to a previous version of Trados Studio as a last resort.

  • I checked it all, except the update of "Net. Framwork", as I don't know how that works. But the problem remains. Any help would be great.
