"Impossible de démarrer le service Sdl.desktop.Platform.Services./TelemetryService"

Hi,

I got this message yesterday when opening Studio 21:

"Impossible de démarrer le service Sdl.desktop.Platform.Services./TelemetryService".

I tried the 2 workarounds suggested in other threads, but it is not working.

Any help you can provide will be welcome.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you're encountering an issue with starting Trados Studio 21 due to the error message regarding the 'TelemetryService'. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Close Trados Studio completely.

**Step 2:** Navigate to the following directory:

    `C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16`

If you can't find the path, ensure that hidden items are visible in Windows File Explorer by clicking on the "View" tab and checking the "Hidden items" checkbox.

**Step 3:** Rename the following XML files to create backups:

    - `BaseSettings.xml` to `BaseSettings_old.xml`

    - `Plugincache.xml` to `Plugincache_old.xml`

    - `UserSettings.xml` to `UserSettings_old.xml`

This will reset your settings to default.

**Step 4:** Restart Trados Studio and see if the issue persists.

**Step 5:** If the problem continues, you may need to reset the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). To do this:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type `cmd` and press Enter to open the Command Prompt as Administrator.

    3. Type `net stop winmgmt` and press Enter to stop the WMI service.

    4. Type `winmgmt /resetrepository` and press Enter to reset the WMI.

    5. Type `net start winmgmt` and press Enter to start the WMI service again.

**Step 6:** Restart your computer and try opening Trados Studio again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please consider checking for any recent Windows updates or reinstalling Trados Studio as a last resort.
