Issues after installing last update Studio 2024 Freelance

I've just installed the last update of Studio 2024 SR1 and now I have 2 issues.

1) A window opens every 5 minutes for connecting to Group Share. I don't work with Group Share right now. I click on the cross to close the window but it appears every few minutes.

2) In the terminology database that appears in the editor, I cannot set fields such as “usage”. I know where the checkboxes are, but nothing appears next to the terms in the database view.

Can somebody help me ?

I am working on Windows 11 Professional

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing a couple of frustrating issues after updating to Trados Studio 2024 SR1. Let's address them step by step:

    **Step 1: GroupShare Connection Window**

    1. Since you are not currently using GroupShare, you can try disabling the GroupShare connection. Go to `File -> Setup -> Servers` and remove any GroupShare server connections listed there.

    2. If the window still appears, consider resetting your Trados Studio settings. You can do this by navigating to the following folder:

      - For Windows 11: `C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio24`

      - Rename the `User Settings.xml` and `Base Settings.xml` files to something like `User Settings_old.xml` and `Base Settings_old.xml`.

    3. Restart Trados Studio and see if the issue persists.

    **Step 2: Terminology Database Fields**

    1. For the issue with the terminology database where you cannot set fields like "usage," ensure that you have the latest updates installed. Sometimes, updates can resolve bugs related to functionality.

    2. If the problem continues, try resetting the terminology database settings. You can do this by going to `File -> Options -> Termbases` and checking if the settings are correctly configured.

    3. Additionally, consider running a repair installation of Trados Studio. You can do this through the Control Panel by selecting Trados Studio and choosing the Repair option.

If these steps do not resolve your issues, please provide any specific error messages or behaviors you observe, as this will help in diagnosing the problem further.

    Hello,

I'm glad to hear that the first issue regarding GroupShare has been resolved! Let's focus on the remaining issue with the terminology database. Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot this problem:

    **Step 1: Verify Database Settings**

    1. Open the Trados Group Share Console and navigate to the Databases section.

    2. Check the "Multi Term Master Database" settings to ensure that the database name and connection details are correct. If they are incorrect or empty, update them accordingly.

    **Step 2: Check for Updates**

    1. Ensure that both Trados Studio and MultiTerm are updated to the same Service Release version. You can check for updates by going to `Help -> Check for Updates` in both applications.

**Step 3: Reset Trados Studio Settings**

    1. Close all RWS applications.

    2. Navigate to the following folder:

      - For Windows 11: `C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio24`

    3. Rename the following XML files:

      - `Base Settings.xml`

      - `Plugincache.xml`

      - `User Settings.xml`

(For example, add an underscore before the file names.)

    4. Restart Trados Studio and check if the issue persists.

**Step 4: Repair Installation (if possible)**

    1. If you can access the Control Panel, try to run a repair installation of Trados Studio.

    2. If the repair option is not available, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Trados Studio.

**Step 5: Check for Corrupted Termbases**

    1. Go to `Project Settings -> Language Pairs -> Termbases` and disable the termbases one by one to see if the issue persists. If the problem disappears after disabling a specific termbase, that termbase may be corrupted and needs to be recreated.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide any specific behaviors or error messages you encounter when trying to set fields in the terminology database. This information will be very helpful in diagnosing the problem further.
