Trados Studio 2022 not handling well a large Excel file

Hi, I have been translating on a large Excel file and my Trados is not handling it well since the beginning but it has recently become even worse. I'm halfway translating this file and now Trados turns off without warning every 10 minutes. In the beginning I got warnings such as "System out of memory exception" - I have upgraded my laptop since then, added RAM and memory and this warning does not appear any more, but I am still facing these issues. I use a plugin AI Professional and used a lot of advice shared on this forum already, but none of the solutions fixde the issue (changing folder names Trados`17_old and Plugins_old; repairing the programme, reinstalling the programme, etc.). Is there anything else I can do? Thank you in advance. Aga

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and specify your operating system for better-targeted assistance.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Aga,

It sounds like you're experiencing quite a frustrating issue with Trados Studio while working on your large Excel file. Here are some steps you can take to potentially resolve the frequent crashes and improve performance:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Updates**

Make sure that you are using the latest version of Trados Studio. Updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes that could help with your issue.

    **Step 2:** **Recreate the Project**

Consider recreating your project using the XML V2 file type, as this has been reported to significantly reduce file sizes and improve handling in Trados Studio.

    **Step 3:** **Remove Threaded Comments**

If your Excel file contains threaded comments, try removing them, as they can sometimes cause issues with processing in Trados Studio.

**Step 4:** **Test with a Smaller File**

If possible, try translating a smaller Excel file to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is related to the file size or content.

**Step 5:** **Check Translation Memories and Termbases**

Corrupted translation memories (TMs) or termbases can lead to crashes. Disable them one by one to see if the issue resolves, and recreate any that are corrupted.

**Step 6:** **Reset Trados Studio Settings**

You can reset Trados Studio to its default settings by renaming the relevant folder in your AppData directory. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues.

    **Step 7:** **Monitor System Resources**

Keep an eye on your system's resource usage (CPU, RAM) while using Trados Studio. If your system is still struggling, consider further upgrades or optimizing your system settings.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and your operating system for more tailored assistance.
