Studio 2024 crashes continuously after last update

Hi everybody.

I have a serious problem after the last update of Trados 2024. When I translate, the program crashes and crashes with no reason and without any error message. This happens when I save, or when I confirm a segment. I usually work on Groupshare projects. It happens more and more often and I'm not able to work anymore. I've uninstalled the AI plugins (which had been reinstalled with the last update) with no result. Please help!

 Best regards,

Lorenza

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any specific error messages if available.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Lorenza,

It sounds like you're experiencing frustrating crashes with Trados Studio 2024 after the recent update. Let's try to resolve this step by step:

**Step 1:** Ensure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any pending updates. Install them and restart your computer.

**Step 2:** Repair your Trados Studio installation. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features, selecting Trados Studio, and choosing the Repair option.

**Step 3:** Verify that you have the correct version of the .NET Framework installed. Trados Studio 2024 requires .NET Framework 4.8 or later. You can check this in the Control Panel under Programs and Features.

**Step 4:** Refresh your .NET Framework installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off, uncheck the .NET Framework 4.5 (or higher), restart your computer, then recheck it and restart again.

**Step 5:** If the crashes occur at specific segments, check for corrupted Translation Memories (TMs) or Termbases. Disable them one by one in Project Settings > Language Pairs > Translation Memory or Termbases to identify if one is causing the issue.

**Step 6:** If your translation resources are stored on a shared drive or cloud service, try moving them to your local machine to see if that resolves the crashes.

**Step 7:** If the problem persists, consider resetting Trados Studio to its default settings. This can help if there are any configuration issues.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to consider rolling back to a previous version of Trados Studio as a last resort.
