Repeated connection attempts to inactive client server in Trados 2024

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with repeated attempts to connect to one of my client’s servers (2), which are currently not functional.

I am working on a personal project that is not related to this client, but every 2 minutes Trados 2024 tries to connect to the server.

For my new project, I selected Any TM file-based (not server-based) and the same for terminology resources.

Despite this, I keep receiving the message twice (for each server):

"Unable to retrieve IDP connection providers from the server."

Do you have any advice on how to stop these connection attempts?

Thank you in advance for your help.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing persistent connection attempts to inactive client servers in Trados 2024. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Remove the inactive server connections.

    - Open Trados Studio.

    - Go to **File > Setup > Servers**.

    - Select the inactive server connection and click **Delete**.

**Step 2:** Reset the local Trados Group Share connection information.

    - Close Trados Studio.

    - Navigate to `C:\Users\%User Name%\App Data\Roaming\SDL\`.

    - Rename the **Platform** folder to **Platform_OLD**.

    - Open Trados Studio again and re-add the necessary server connections.

**Step 3:** Check for any project settings that may still be pointing to the inactive servers.

    - Ensure that your current project is set to use only file-based resources and not server-based ones.

**Step 4:** If the issue persists, consider restarting Trados Studio or your computer to refresh the application.

**Step 5:** If you have recently changed your Group Share user password, make sure to update the connection settings in Trados Studio accordingly.

By following these steps, you should be able to stop the repeated connection attempts to the inactive servers. If you continue to experience issues, please provide any error messages you receive and details about your operating system for further assistance.
