    Hello Caroline,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with Trados Studio 2024 SR1 where the target language is not being recognized, leading to every word being underlined in red. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

    **Step 1:** **Check Language Settings**

    - Open Trados Studio and navigate to `File > Options > Editor > Languages`.

    - Ensure that the target language is set correctly to French (Canada). If it shows as `<not set>`, select French (Canada) from the dropdown menu and save your changes.

**Step 2:** **Reset Non-Project Related Settings**

    - Close Trados Studio.

    - Navigate to the following folder: `C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\18`.

    - Rename the `Studio18` folder to `Studio18_old`. This will reset your settings.

    - Restart Trados Studio and check if the issue persists.

    **Step 3:** **Repair Installation**

    - If the problem continues, consider repairing your installation.

    - Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, find Trados Studio 2024, right-click, and select `Repair`.

    **Step 4:** **Check for Updates**

    - Ensure that your Trados Studio is up to date. Go to `Help > Check for Updates` and install any available updates.

**Step 5:** **Create a New Project**

    - If the issue is project-specific, try creating a new project with the same language settings to see if the problem persists.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, please provide any error messages you may be receiving, and let me know if this occurs with all projects or just specific ones.
