Issue with segment status when importing XTM XLF files into Studio 2024

Hello,

I'm importing files from XTM into Studio.

The XLF files are imported without any apparent issues  but when I open the files I note the segment statuses in Studio are not the same as the ones in XTM.

For instance, the 1st segment is not translated in XTM and does appear as Draft in Studio

The 2nd segment appears as MTd in XTM and as Translated in Studio

the 3rd segment appears as ICE in XTM and as Translated (just like the 2nd one) in Studio

Screenshot showing error messages in a table format with segment statuses: 'Multiple campaigns exist for this instance' marked as M, 'There is already an active campaign for this instance' marked as MT, and 'Delegated Authentication and Password Push cannot both be enabled' marked as ICE.

Screenshot showing a similar table with error messages: 'Multiple campaigns exist for this instance', 'There is already an active campaign for this instance', and 'Delegated Authentication and Password Push cannot both be enabled', all marked as TU+.

How can I make sure the statuses are similar between the tools?

Thank you

  • Hello

Thank you for your prompt answer.

I've looked into this but it seems a bit more complex (or I'm simply not understanding the process)

When checking the files in XTM, I see the below

A table showing rows with columns labeled ID, description, and status. Rows include entries like 'authentication of DSSO requests' with status ICE, and errors like 'Something went wrong' with status M or MT.

    and I need

    the ICE to be/stay locked

the MTd ones to appear as Draft

and the M one to appear as Not translated

Do you think this is possible?

Status names from XTM don’t match exactly Studio ones. For example needs adaptation in XTM would be Draft in Studio. I’d recommend you to open a copy of the XLF file in Notepad or Notepad++, search for any meaningfull text, and then there close, somewhere, you will have the XTM status, such as needs-review-adaptation. This status appears on the left hand side of my animated image. Finally choose the SDLXLIFF status you wish for this XTM status, such as Draft.

I actually use the mapping shown above to import XTM XLFs, so just doing what I do, you will get very close to what you need. It goes a bit fast, sorry about that, I hadn not realise till now, but if you download the animation to your PC, you'll be able to pause it…

    the ICE to be/stay locked

I believe ICE is internally managed by XTM, so if I’m correct, this status is not carried to the XLF file. You may try to tick the Translated check box in the section Automatically lock segments with status, this will lock all Translated segments, not only the ICE ones. If this is not what you want, you can filter ICEs in XTM, and then manually lock those same segments in Trados Studio.
