Ctrl + A in Find & Replace search text field selects the target text in the Editor rather than the text input text in the field

Hi all. This may sound ridiculous, but I finally just upgraded from Studio 2017 to 2024. One of the most frustrating micro-changes I am trying to adapt to is that when I have the Find and Replace dialog box open and I have clicked inside the text input field for either Find or Replace and then click ctrl+A, it selects the target text in the editor rather than the input text in the field. Any other keyboard interaction works in the field as it should, including shift + left or right arrow, but I use this function a LOT and clicking and highlighting with the mouse is getting to be a drag. Is this something that I can fix?

And don't even get me started on F&R always on top...Trados Studio 2024 interface showing the Find and Replace dialog box with text fields for 'Find what' and 'Replace with', and highlighted text in the editor panel.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the version of Trados Studio you are using and any relevant settings or configurations that might affect the behavior of the Ctrl + A shortcut.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with the Ctrl + A shortcut in the Find & Replace dialog of Trados Studio 2024. Here are some steps you can take to potentially resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Check for Conflicting Shortcuts

    - Since you mentioned that the issue started after upgrading, it's possible that another application or a setting in Trados Studio is conflicting with the Ctrl + A shortcut. Check if any other applications (like Deep L for Windows) are using this shortcut and disable them if necessary.

    **Step 2:** Reset Keyboard Shortcuts

    - Go to **File > Options > Keyboard Shortcuts** and click on 'Reset All'. This can help restore the default behavior of shortcuts.

    **Step 3:** Update Trados Studio

    - Ensure that you are using the latest version of Trados Studio 2024. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer updates, so check for updates within the application.

**Step 4:** Test in a New Project

    - Create a new project and see if the issue persists there. If it works fine in a new project, the problem might be specific to your current project settings.

    **Step 5:** Repair Installation

    - If the issue continues, consider repairing your Trados Studio installation through the Control Panel's Programs and Features.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a software defect that needs to be reported to the development team for further investigation.
