Memory Result window not showing the difference between TUs and sources

I had this issue since two days ago all of sudden. I didn't touch any options until this happened.

A table showing two rows with translation matches. The first row has a 100% match for 'Treatment and Follow-Up' with Korean text and PHF. The second row has a 53% match for 'RESEARCH CONSENT SUMMARY: (TREATMENT AND FOLLOW-UP)' with Korean text and H.

Trados Studio options window showing 'Translation Results Window' settings. Includes options for display, differences formatting with examples of inserted and deleted content formatting, and font size settings.

Trados Studio options window showing 'Automation' settings. Includes checkboxes for translation memory options, confirming segments, and merging segments across paragraph boundaries.

And then I saw a question from someone who had the same problem with me.

TM matches found and inserted but the differences are not shown

I deleted these two files:

%appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18\

%appdata%\Trados\Trados Studio\18\

Problem solved, but it just happened again while I was working on it.

Updated the latest version but it didn't help much.

I would really appreciate it if you could know why it keeps happening and how I can fix it.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the version of Trados Studio you are using and any error messages you may have encountered.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you're experiencing an issue with the Memory Result window in Trados Studio not displaying the differences between Translation Units (TUs) and source segments. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    **Step 1:** Check your settings

    - Go to **File > Options > Editor > Translation Results Window**.

    - Ensure that the option **'Show document source segment'** is unchecked. This should allow the window to display both the source and target segments.

    **Step 2:** Repair your installation

    - Close all RWS applications.

    - Open the Control Panel and navigate to **Programs > Programs and Features**.

    - Select Trados Studio and choose **Repair**. This can help fix any underlying issues with the installation.

    **Step 3:** Reset your settings

    - Close Trados Studio.

    - Navigate to the following folder:

     `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\App Data\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\`

    - Rename the folder corresponding to your version (e.g., **Studio18**) to something like **Studio18_old**.

    - Restart Trados Studio to see if the issue persists.

    **Step 4:** Check for updates

    - Ensure that you are using the latest version of Trados Studio. Go to **Help > Check for Updates** to see if any updates are available.

    **Step 5:** Monitor for patterns

    - Since you mentioned that the issue reappeared after a while, try to identify if there are specific actions or conditions that trigger the problem. This information can be helpful for further troubleshooting.

If the problem continues after trying these steps, it may be beneficial to consider reinstalling Trados Studio or reaching out to the support team for more in-depth assistance.
