Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.2.6370 - Slow functionning of Studio Desktop

We have update Sutdio Desktop to Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.2.6370 and we are experiencing lagging at all the steps of the translation process done with GroupShare

Does somebody else has the same issue? How did you fix it? Should I open a ticket with RWS?

Thanks!

Caroline

    Hello Caroline,

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating performance issues with Trados Studio 2024 SR1. Here are some steps you can take to potentially resolve the lagging problem:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Updates**

Ensure that you have the latest updates installed for both Trados Studio and Trados GroupShare. Sometimes, performance issues are addressed in newer updates.

    **Step 2:** **Repair Installation**

You can try repairing your Trados Studio installation. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, find Trados Studio, right-click, and select 'Repair'. Restart the application afterward.

    **Step 3:** **Reset User Settings**

Resetting your user settings can help resolve performance issues. Navigate to the following folder:

    `C:\Users\[Your_User_Name]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18`

Rename the 'Base Settings.xml' file to 'Base Settings_old.xml' and restart Trados Studio.

**Step 4:** **Check Translation Memory and Termbases**

If the lag occurs when using specific translation memories (TMs) or termbases, check if they are corrupted. Disable them one by one in the project settings to see if performance improves.

    **Step 5:** **Local Resources**

If your translation resources are stored on a network drive, consider copying them to your local drive to see if that improves performance.

    **Step 6:** **Contact RWS Support**

If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be beneficial to open a ticket with RWS Support for further assistance.
