edit

During the editing process, I noticed something: when I try to add some words or numbers to an existing sentence, the new characters I type replace (or 'overwrite') the characters that are already there.

How can I fix this?

Question improvement suggestion: Please specify the software version you are using and clarify if you are using the Online Editor or Trados Studio for a more tailored solution.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the overwrite mode in your editing process. Here are some steps you can take to address this:

**Step 1:** Check if the Insert key on your keyboard is toggled on. Pressing the Insert key can switch between insert and overwrite modes. If you want to add text without overwriting, ensure that you are in insert mode.

**Step 2:** If you are using Trados Studio, you can also use the standard Windows text editing functionality. Click inside the target segment and type your text.

**Step 3:** If you are using the Online Editor, ensure that you have not accidentally enabled any settings that might cause this behavior.

**Step 4:** If the issue persists, consider checking for updates within the application, as this may be a known defect that has been addressed in a recent update.

**Step 5:** If you are editing comments or suggestions, remember that you can delete the existing text and type your new suggestion, which will be displayed in a different format to indicate the changes.

If you continue to face this issue, please provide the software version you are using for more specific guidance.
