Trados Studio 2024 SR1 professional jumps to end of file rather than next segment

Hello everyone,

Since upgrading to Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.2.6370 professional in August, Trados is behaving unpredictably.

Trados jumps to the end of the file on the bilingual display view, be it while translating or during reviewing the finished translation, when manually entering a new segment or going there by confirming the previously translated segment.
However, the actual segment appears to be activated (though not shown) because MT terminology recognition shows the newly found terminology hits for the next segment.

As a workaround, I'm currently using the upwards arrow, which will align/synchronise the right sidebar position indicator with the activated segment and the position of (mouse) cursor.

This jumping around can happen within any project and any file almost every other segment, but at least once in small files.
The segments affected can be pretranslated CM, 100% or fuzzy matches. They can also be empty segments or unconfirmed pretranslated machine translations.

I can't find any reason for this odd behaviour.

My laptop has been updated to Windows 11 recently. This didn't change Trados Studio's behaviour to the better or worse.

Please advise on how to fix this.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Sanne

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about any error messages encountered and the exact steps taken to troubleshoot the issue.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Sanne,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with Trados Studio 2024 SR1 where the application jumps to the end of the file instead of the next segment. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Updates**

Ensure that your Trados Studio is up-to-date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer releases, so check for any available updates within the application.

    **Step 2:** **Reset Window Layout**

Try resetting the window layout in Trados Studio. Go to the View tab and select 'Reset Window Layout'. This can sometimes resolve display issues.

**Step 3:** **Review Auto-replay Editing Actions**

Since you mentioned that the 'Auto-replay editing actions' feature might be causing issues, check if this feature is activated. If it is, consider deactivating it to see if it resolves the jumping behavior.

**Step 4:** **Test with Different Projects**

Since the issue occurs across various projects, try creating a new project with a simple file to see if the problem persists. This can help determine if the issue is project-specific or a broader software issue.

    **Step 5:** **Check Keyboard Shortcuts**

Ensure that there are no conflicting keyboard shortcuts that might be causing unexpected behavior. You can reset keyboard shortcuts by going to 'Options' > 'Keyboard Shortcuts' and clicking 'Reset All'.

    **Step 6:** **Contact Support**

If the issue continues after trying these steps, consider reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance. They may have additional insights or solutions based on your specific situation.
