Cannot save the translation result as a MS Word file. The error message is "the source file cannot find! "

I finished translation, but cannot save the translation result only as a MS Word file. The error message says "the source file cannot find! ".

I use Trados Studio 2024.

A couple of weeks ago, Trados did not start and I solved this problem using ”Freshstart".

Please help me.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact steps you took before encountering the error and any specific actions you have already tried to resolve the issue.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

To resolve the issue of not being able to save your translation result as a Microsoft Word file and encountering the error message "the source file cannot find!", please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Ensure that the original source file is still accessible and has not been moved or deleted. If the file is missing, you will need to locate it or restore it from a backup.

**Step 2:** Restart Trados Studio. Sometimes, simply restarting the application can resolve temporary glitches.

**Step 3:** Check if the Word file you are trying to save is open in any other application. If it is, close it and then attempt to save your translation again.

**Step 4:** If the problem persists, try cleaning up the project files. Go to **Project > Batch Tasks > Clean Up** to remove any temporary files that might be causing the issue.

**Step 5:** If you still cannot save the file, consider recreating the project. Create a new project using the same source file and apply the Pre-Translate batch task to retrieve segments from your translation memory.

**Step 6:** If you have made any changes to your antivirus settings recently, ensure that it is not blocking access to the files you are working with.

**Step 7:** Lastly, if you have recently used the "Freshstart" option, ensure that all settings and configurations are correctly set up after that process.
