Any solution yet to "No matches found or no lookup performed" in Studio Editor?

I have seen this issue mentioned a number of times in the forum (No matches found or no lookup performed), but no solution yet. I had this issue from a client for a period of about a week earlier this year (jobs from TE), after which it went away and they never knew why. Today a different client sent a ("manually" set up) package which has the same problem. That is, no show of TM matches of any kind (even if they are definitely present in the TM(s)), and concordance search doesn’t work even when searching using single words.

Can anyone help?

Still using Studio 21 16.2.12.9338 on my current computer (Win 10).

Thanks,

Ryan Klitholm

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the Translation Memory (TM) settings and any recent changes made to the project or TMs that might have affected the lookup functionality.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Ryan,

To address the "No matches found or no lookup performed" issue in Trados Studio, please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Ensure your Translation Memory (TM) is updated to the latest version. Check for an orange triangle next to the TM symbol, which indicates it needs upgrading. If you have multiple TMs, make sure to check and upgrade all of them if necessary.

**Step 2:** Reorganize your TM. Right-click on the TM in the Translation Memories view and select 'Reorganize' to ensure all recent translations are indexed and visible.

**Step 3:** Verify your project settings. Go to Project Settings -> Language Pairs -> [Specific Language Pair] -> Translation Memory and Automatic Translation. Ensure that the box next to "Use different translation providers for this language pair" is unticked. Then, add your TMs under All Language Pairs.

**Step 4:** If the issue persists, consider creating a new TM and importing the contents of the old one into it. Always back up your TMs before making significant changes.

**Step 5:** As a temporary workaround, you can enable the option to use wildcards in your search. For example, enter * in the Source Text or Target Text fields to broaden your search.

If you continue to experience issues, please check if there have been any recent updates to Trados Studio or your operating system that might have affected the functionality.
