AutoSuggest Not Working and Copy/Paste Issue in Find & Replace (Windows 11, Studio 2024 SR1)

Hello,
I’m using Windows 11 and Trados Studio 2024 SR1 (Freelance). I’m experiencing two issues:

  1. AutoSuggest is not working at all.

  2. In the Find and Replace dialog, when I copy the text from the “Find what” field and try to paste it into the “Replace with” field, it pastes the previously copied text instead of the one I just copied from “Find what.” It seems that copying from the “Find what” field is not working properly.

Could you please advise on how to fix these issues?

Thank you.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about any troubleshooting steps you have already taken to resolve the issues with AutoSuggest and the Find & Replace functionality.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out! Let's address the two issues you're experiencing with Trados Studio 2024 SR1 on Windows 11.

    **Step 1: Troubleshooting AutoSuggest**

    1. **Check AutoSuggest Settings**: Go to the AutoSuggest settings in Trados Studio and ensure that the correct termbases and AutoSuggest dictionaries are selected for your project.

    2. **Update Termbases**: Make sure your termbases are updated to include the terms you expect to see.

    3. **Adjust Minimum Prefix Length**: If the minimum prefix length is set too high, lower it to allow suggestions to appear sooner.

    4. **Enable Multi-word AutoSuggest**: If you're working with multi-word terms, ensure that the 'multi-word AutoSuggest' option is enabled.

    5. **Check Suggestions Window Settings**: Set 'Show the suggestions window when there are' to a lower number, like 20, to avoid being too restrictive.

**Step 2: Resolving Copy/Paste Issue in Find & Replace**

    1. **Reset Keyboard Shortcuts**: Go to File > Options > Keyboard Shortcuts and click on 'Reset All' to ensure there are no conflicting shortcuts.

    2. **Repair Installation**: If the issue persists, consider repairing your Trados Studio installation through the Control Panel.

    3. **Test with Another Keyboard**: If you suspect a hardware issue, try using a different keyboard to see if the problem continues.

If these steps do not resolve your issues, please let me know what troubleshooting steps you have already taken, and we can explore further solutions together.

  • 하나 마나한 소리 적어 놨네요. 키보드 바꿔바라는 건 거의 멍청이라고 자백하는 수준인데요..(It seems like the suggestions provided are not very helpful.
Recommending something like “try another keyboard” feels almost like admitting that the answer has no real substance.)..

This is not the best answer provided by Trados, is it? I’ll wait for a reply.
