The service “Sdl.TranslationStudio.Api.ProjectManagement.IProjectManagementService” could not be started.

I registered a case (Case No. CS0031465), but due to work commitments, I was unable to respond to the case correspondence and it expired. However, the issue remains unresolved, so please allow me to re-register the same case.

The contents of the case are as follows; I'm using Trados Studio 2019. I hadn't been using it much lately, but on October 31st, I received a translation request that required Trados Studio. I continued working on that job alongside other tasks.
However, around 4:30 PM on November 13th, I suddenly couldn't launch Trados Studio anymore. The error message shown above appeared.
I tried various recovery methods while consulting with a support representative named Ana-Maria, but I was unable to restore it.
For now, I've handed over the work in its current state to someone else, so I probably won't need to use Trados Studio for the time being. However, it's problematic that it remains unusable, so I request support to restore it.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact error message and any specific troubleshooting steps you have already attempted.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you're encountering an issue with starting Trados Studio 2019 due to the error message regarding the 'Sdl.TranslationStudio.Api.ProjectManagement.IProjectManagementService'. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

**Step 1:** Close Trados Studio completely.

**Step 2:** Navigate to the following directory:

    `C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Studio 2019\Projects`

    Delete the `projects.xml` file.

**Step 3:** Check the following directory for any potential issues:

    `C:\Users\%username%\App Data\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15`

If you can't find the path, ensure that hidden items are visible in Windows File Explorer by clicking on the "View" tab and checking the "Hidden items" checkbox.

**Step 4:** Rename the `Plugins` folder to `Plugins_old`. This will disable any third-party plugins that might be causing the issue.

**Step 5:** Optionally, you can run a repair installation of Trados Studio. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, find Trados Studio, right-click on it, and select "Repair".

**Step 6:** Restart your computer and then try to open Trados Studio again.

If the issue persists, consider checking for any antivirus software that could be interfering with the application. Adding the Trados Studio installation folder as an exception in your antivirus settings can sometimes resolve such issues.

If none of these steps work, please consider checking for any recent Windows updates or reinstalling Trados Studio as a last resort.
