Trados 2024 closes during translation

I'm translating a project in Trados 2024 but during translation it closes automatically and I cannot continue working. I haven't uninstalled Trados 2017 yet. Could this be the problem or may be any other compatibility issue?

Thank you

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific error messages or logs if available, and mention the operating system and version you are using.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with Trados Studio 2024 closing unexpectedly during translation. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

**Step 1:** **Check for Software Updates**

Make sure that your Trados Studio 2024 is up to date. You can check for updates within the application to ensure you have the latest fixes and improvements.

    **Step 2:** **Repair Your Installation**

If the issue persists, consider repairing your Trados Studio installation. This can often resolve unexpected crashes. You can find guidance on how to do this in the application or on the RWS support site.

    **Step 3:** **Check .NET Framework**

Ensure that you have the required .NET Framework version installed (4.8 or later for Trados Studio 2024). If necessary, refresh your .NET installation by toggling the .NET feature off and on in Windows Features.

**Step 4:** **Test Translation Memories and Termbases**

Corrupted Translation Memories (TMs) or termbases can cause crashes. Disable your TMs and termbases one by one to see if the issue persists. If you identify a corrupted TM or termbase, you may need to recreate it.

    **Step 5:** **Local Storage**

Ensure that your translation resources are stored locally on your computer rather than on shared drives or cloud services, as this can sometimes lead to access issues.

    **Step 6:** **Recreate the Project**

If the problem continues, the project you are working on may be corrupted. Try recreating the project and using the Pre-translate Files batch task to leverage previously translated segments.

**Step 7:** **Check for Conflicting Software**

If you have other versions of Trados installed, they should generally run alongside each other without issues. However, ensure that there are no conflicts with plugins or other software that might be causing the crashes.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please provide any specific error messages or logs that appear when the application closes, as this information can help in diagnosing the problem further.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
