AutoSuggest function does not pull suggestions from AutoSuggest dictionaries in Studio SR1 18.1.3.6657

Since I installed Studio SR1 18.1.3.6657 the AutoSuggest function has stopped showing me suggestions from my AutoSuggest dictionaries (it does show me terms from my term bases though). The same has happened to my 25+ students in my courses at the Metafrasi Translator Training Centre, so I presume it does not have to do with my computer.

I have tried the following, but the problem persists:

I have checked that the AutoSuggest function is enabled and that its settings are correct.

I have tried using both old and new AutoSuggest dictionaries.

I have adjusted the minimum prefix length setting to 1 character. Still no suggestions appeared.

Ι have reset my user profile shortcuts.

I have repaired my installation of Trados Studio.

Please advise on what to do next, and look into this matter as it seems that it is not an isolated problem. Aside from my students, I see that other users are facing the same issue as well.

Thank you in advance,

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the AutoSuggest dictionaries being used, including their creation process and any relevant settings that may affect their functionality.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Vasilis,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the AutoSuggest function in Trados Studio SR1 18.1.3.6657. It sounds like a frustrating issue, especially since it is affecting both you and your students. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot this problem further:

    **Step 1:** Verify AutoSuggest Settings

    - Ensure that the AutoSuggest function is enabled in your settings. Go to **File > Options > Editor > AutoSuggest** and check that the relevant AutoSuggest dictionaries are selected.

    **Step 2:** Check AutoSuggest Dictionaries

    - Confirm that the AutoSuggest dictionaries you are using are correctly created and populated. If possible, try creating a new AutoSuggest dictionary from a translation memory to see if that resolves the issue.

**Step 3:** Adjust Minimum Prefix Length

    - You mentioned adjusting the minimum prefix length to 1 character. Double-check this setting to ensure it is still set correctly. Sometimes, settings can revert after updates.

**Step 4:** Review User Profile Shortcuts

    - Since you have reset your user profile shortcuts, ensure that there are no conflicting shortcuts that might prevent AutoSuggest from functioning properly.

**Step 5:** Test with Different Projects

    - Try creating a new project or using a different translation memory to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is project-specific.

**Step 6:** Update or Repair Installation

    - Since you have already repaired your installation, ensure that you are running the latest updates for Trados Studio. Sometimes, issues are resolved in subsequent patches.

If the problem continues after these steps, it may be beneficial to gather more information about the specific AutoSuggest dictionaries you are using and any other settings that might be affecting their performance.
