My preview window won't stay on second screen

Hi,

I'm using Trados Studio 2024 SR1 (version 18.1.3.6657) on a PC with two monitors.

I'm trying to move the preview panel to my second display. I can move it there using the mouse, but as soon as I release the mouse button, the preview panel reverts to the main display.

I tried pinning the preview window, but that did not solve the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour?

Thanks.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide more details about your monitor setup, such as their resolutions and whether they are set to extend or duplicate displays. This can help in diagnosing the issue more effectively.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with the preview window in Trados Studio 2024 SR1. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

**Step 1:** Ensure that your display settings are configured correctly. Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings." Make sure that your monitors are set to "Extend these displays" rather than "Duplicate." This allows you to use both screens independently.

**Step 2:** Try resetting the window layout in Trados Studio. Go to the "View" tab in the top menu and select "Reset Window Layout." This can help if the application is not recognizing the second monitor correctly.

**Step 3:** After resetting the layout, attempt to move the preview window again. Click on the Preview tab, then click the "Pin" button to keep it open. Drag the preview window to your second monitor and see if it stays there after releasing the mouse button.

**Step 4:** If the issue persists, you can try using the Windows key + Shift + Left/Right Arrow to move the Trados Studio application between monitors. This can sometimes help in repositioning windows that are not displaying correctly.

**Step 5:** Lastly, ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause display issues with applications.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider repairing your installation of Trados Studio or checking for any updates that may address this behavior.
