Question improvement suggestion: Please clarify if you have checked the file type settings in Trados Studio and if you have any specific project settings that might affect the available formats.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

It seems you are experiencing some limitations with the "Save Target As" functionality in Trados Studio 2024 when working with IDML files. Here are some steps and considerations that might help clarify the situation:

**Step 1:** Check File Type Settings

Ensure that the file type settings for IDML in your project are correctly configured. Sometimes, the available formats for saving can be influenced by the file type settings in your project.

    **Step 2:** Review Project Settings

If you have specific project settings or templates, they may restrict the output formats. Check if your project is set up to allow saving in formats like PDF or Excel.

    **Step 3:** Update Trados Studio

Make sure you have the latest updates installed for Trados Studio 2024, as updates can sometimes resolve issues related to file formats.

    **Step 4:** Manual Conversion

If you are unable to save in the desired format directly from Trados Studio, consider exporting your IDML file and converting it to the desired format (like PDF or Excel) using external software after saving it as an IDML.

    **Step 5:** Consult Documentation

Refer to the Trados Studio documentation or help resources for any specific notes on saving target files from IDML sources, as there may be nuances based on the file type.

If you continue to face issues, please provide more details about your project settings or any error messages you might be encountering.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

It was never different. This is the very rule in Trados Studio (and most certainly in any other CAT tool): what goes in that goes out. The only exception is PDF opened directly in Studio, in this case the target is Word.
