More details would help, as we don't know what is happening on your computer or what you are working on. Also, in case of errors, screenshots of the errors help a lot. And like Gérard LAMBERT  mentioned, force closing a computer may do more damage than help to both the computer and the software. So please use CTRL+ALT+DELETE, select "Task Manager" in the list, open it, look for Trados in the processes, right-click on it and choose "End of Task".

Now back to your issue, does Trados freeze when you work on a particular project or package? If yes, this means that inside that project or package there may be a corrupted file which can cause Trados to freeze. Also, it matters if it's a local project/package or a server-based one. And are you saving files locally or on OneDrive or some similar shared space? Because saving on OneDrive may cause issues with Trados.

Moreover, and for future reference as well, in case one experiences issues with Trados like freezing, not starting, etc - first thing advised is to do a Repair of Trados and next a Reset of Trados to default settings, both processes explained in the article below and with what steps to take so please try this instead of force closing the computer:

Trados would remain just stuck and nothing works until I switch down everything!
In some other cases, like 20 seconds ago, Trados shuts down by itself while I'm writing. No reason, no error message, I did not do anything unusual. But in these cases, I can simply relaunch it.
I usually work on files belonging to a package, yes, but there are no corrupted files. When I manage to reopen it, everything works fine again.
Only local projects, I do not work online.
About OneDrive, that might be the case. Actually I did not want to use it, I wanted to store my files locally only, but OneDrive started automatically when I first configured my PC: do you know how I could disable it?

Various errors or unusual behaviour may actually occur when resources in use in Trados Studio are synchronized with OneDrive, as detailed in our KB article:

In the article it is also advised that, if possible, synchronization should be paused while Trados Studio is in use, or all Studio-related information should be saved in a location not synchronized with OneDrive.

Another option is to disable OneDrive altogether. For further information, please see on Microsoft Help page: Turn off, disable, or uninstall OneDrive.

Try pausing the synchronization with OneDrive or use a location which is not synchronized with OneDrive and see if that solves the issue. If the issue persists, you can check what Jerzy indicated and you also have the option for the reset to default for Trados.

It's me again! I never use... and never disabled OneDrive. All my translation work is stored on my D:\ drive; One Drive can mess only with the C:\ drive.

Not really. It controls the folder Documents and many other. And these folder may be located anywhere in your PC. My is for example on a drive with the letter e:\

Well, my answer was some kind of personal shortcut! I guess that the idea is avoiding to store one's translation work, and especially Studio files, on the same drive as OneDrive. Or am I wrong again?

Well, this as usual depends on your setup. Of course you are fully right, when it comes to working files, TMs and TBs. Storing these on OneDrive is a bad idea. However, my Studio subfolder in the Documents folder is stored on OneDrive and this makes no problems. The reason are project templates and some other settings files, which I this way can share between desktop and laptop.

Ok since I do not have many drives, only C:, for the moment I am trying with OneDrive paused... it's been working since yesterday. It's a bit of a nuisance to remember to pause it every time I work for this client, but it seems to be the easiest way for someone (me) who is not a computer expert... I hops this will suffice! Thanks for the tip anyway!

I am glad to hear this solved the issue, Valeria Maria. Unfortunately, we cannot influence how Microsoft manages its software, this is a default setting for OneDrive, to synchronize certain folders and files.
