Trados stops operation after 30 seconds and exits program - HELP

Hello everyone,

SOS

A few weeks ago I upgraded from Studio 2021 to Studio 2024 and worked with no problem.

Since 2 days now I translated a few lines and the program would freeze and I would have to exit and restart the PC.

Now I can barely translate 1 line and it just stops and exits. I cannot even save the work. I cannot work at all!!

Ι need help urgently as I need to submit my assignments at work!

Maria

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about your operating system, any error messages received, and whether you have tried any troubleshooting steps already.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Maria,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2024. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

**Step 1:** **Check for Windows Updates**

    - Type "Check for updates" in the Windows search bar and select the option.

    - Install any available updates and restart your computer.

**Step 2:** **Repair Your Trados Studio Installation**

    - Follow the guide for repairing your installation of Trados Studio. This can often resolve unexpected crashes.

**Step 3:** **Verify .NET Framework Installation**

    - Ensure that you have .NET Framework 4.8 or later installed, as this is required for Trados Studio 2024.

**Step 4:** **Refresh .NET Framework Installation**

    - Go to "Turn Windows features on or off" and uncheck the .NET Framework version. Restart your computer, then re-enable it and restart again.

**Step 5:** **Check for Corrupted Translation Memory (TM) or Termbase**

    - Disable your TMs and termbases one by one in Project Settings to see if the crash persists. If disabling a specific TM or termbase stops the crashes, that resource may be corrupted and needs to be recreated.

    **Step 6:** **Store Resources Locally**

    - If your translation resources are on a shared drive or cloud service, try moving them to your local drive and see if that resolves the issue.

**Step 7:** **Reset Trados Studio to Default Settings**

    - If the problem continues, consider resetting Trados Studio to its default settings.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, please provide more details about your operating system and any error messages you may have encountered. This information will help in diagnosing the problem further.
