Default termbase settings

Hello,

I want to set up my termbases the same way for every project I work on. In particular:

1. I want the minimum match value to always be 100% (fuzzy termbase matches are nearly always useless in my source language Chinese)

2. I want all of the fields to be selected so they are shown in Term Recognition.

At the moment, I have to apply these settings manually for each project. Is there a way to apply these settings by default? Thanks!

Question improvement suggestion: Clearly specify the version of Trados Studio you are using, as settings may vary between versions.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

To set up your termbases with the desired default settings in Trados Studio, follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Open your project in Trados Studio.

**Step 2:** Go to the **Project menu** and select **Project Properties**.

**Step 3:** In the Project Properties dialog box, navigate to the **Termbases** section.

**Step 4:** Here, you can add your termbases if they are not already included. Click **Add** to select the termbases you want to use.

**Step 5:** To set a termbase as the default, select it from the list and click **Set as Default**. This termbase will be searched first during term recognition.

**Step 6:** To adjust the search settings, click on the **Search Settings** option. Here, you can set the **Minimum Match Value** to 100% and ensure that all fields are selected for display in Term Recognition.

**Step 7:** Make sure to save your project settings. These settings will apply to the current project and can be saved as a project template for future use.

By following these steps, you can streamline your termbase settings for all your projects. If you need to apply these settings to multiple projects, consider saving your project as a template, which will retain your preferred settings for future use.
