翻訳メモリが一致を返してくれません。

Trados Studio 2024 SR1

Question improvement suggestion: Please provide details about any specific error messages you receive when attempting to use the translation memory, and confirm if you have checked the settings for the translation memory in your project.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your translation memory not returning matches in Trados Studio 2024 SR1. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

**Step 1:** Check Translation Memory Settings

    - Go to 'Settings' > 'Translation Engine' in your project settings and ensure that the translation memory is correctly added and that the 'Update' checkbox is ticked.

    **Step 2:** Verify TM Status

    - Look for any orange triangles next to your translation memory in the Translation Memories view. If present, this indicates that the TM needs to be upgraded. Right-click on the TM and select 'Upgrade Translation Memory' if necessary.

**Step 3:** Re-index the Translation Memory

    - For file-based TMs, open Trados Studio, go to the Translation Memories view, select your TM, and navigate to 'Settings' > 'Performance and Tuning' > 'Re-index Translation Memory...'. This can help refresh the TM and improve match retrieval.

    **Step 4:** Run Pre-translate Task

    - After re-indexing, run a Batch Task -> Pre-translate to ensure that the TM is updated with the most recent translations.

**Step 5:** Check for Duplicates or Conflicts

    - Review your TM for any duplicate or conflicting entries that might be affecting match retrieval.

**Step 6:** Create a New TM (if necessary)

    - If the issue persists, consider creating a new translation memory and importing the contents of the old one into it. Always back up your TMs before making significant changes.

If you follow these steps and still encounter issues, please provide any specific error messages or additional details about your setup, and I would be happy to assist further.

  • Hi Community AI.

Thanks for your answer.  I have a request.  I'm using Japanese as the interface language for Trados and would like to avoid rebooting Trados just to see what the "Settings"  > "Translation Engine" in my project settings looks like in English.

So to make sure I understand you correctly, can you send me an image (screen shot) of the Settings"  > "Translation Engine" in English, together with a sample translation memory listed with all necessary checkboxes ticked?

    Thank you!

**Step 2:** Locate the Translation Engine

    - In the Project Settings dialog, look for "Language Pairs" on the left side, and under that, select "All Language Pairs" or the specific language pair you are working with.

**Step 3:** Check Translation Memory Settings

    - Under "Translation Memory and Automated Translation," you should see a list of your translation memories. Ensure that the "Update" checkbox is ticked for the TM you want to use.

    **Step 4:** Review Additional Settings

    - You may also want to check if there are any other relevant settings that could affect the TM's performance, such as the order of TMs or any specific filters applied.

If you have access to another machine with Trados installed in English, you could also check the settings there for a visual reference.
