Problem saving Trados document to M Word document . Help

Question

Hello all, 
 I have a problem saving a Trados project as a Word document the project includes over 1500 segments, whenever I try to save it as Word Document I get this message: failed to save target content: missing tag <'illustration id="_2"name= picture, hyperlink ....etc, in segment.....etc . Please run tag verification to see details.

If you are talking about in Target, by default tag protection is turned off. If you are talking about in Source, then unless the client has supplied you an sdlxliff rather than a Word file, you can turn on source editing before you create the project or sdlxliff. 
However, tags are there to protect stuff that is required for the accurate production of the original format target file so unless you understand what the tag is and know it is OK to delete, you should leave them alone.

Word is known for not saving back to target due to properties that actually come from the source Word file itself. It is always advisable, before starting work on a Word-based sdlxliff, to try saving it to target first. If it does not work, you can try to identify what content in the original Word file has caused the problem, and remove it from a copy of the Word file before creating an sdlxliff based on that copy. Once you have eliminated the content (often in headers or inserted external content such as an image produced by 3rd party software or an Excel table, for example), you can recreate the final file by adding the content manually after you have saved the successful sdlxliff back to target Word. 
 
It is probable that it is original content from the Word file rather than content created by Studio that is causing the failure to save back to Word. There are already more detailed posts on the subject on this forum as well as on the knowledge base. 
 
Does any of the above ring true with the behaviour in your scenario? If not, I would need further information to be able to identify what is causing the problem in your case.
