Trados 2021 SR2 issue - Cannot save any progress

Hello all,

I recently bought a new laptop and I am having trouble saving my files in Trados. I translate, the segments are confirmed, but when I save in order to have an updfated sdlxliff file with my translations ready to submit to the client, I get the following error:

Access to the path
'C:\Users\silvi\AppData\Local\Temp\b38cada5-606c-4438-ab3b-4913683373cb_0-34110-TCT-001.zip.0-34110-TCT-001.zip\source\Trados_..........docx_960261.sdlxliff' is denied.

Can you help me? I've already tried to change the folder where it should be saved at Project Settings>Project>Location, and the same error appears.

I have a deadline approaching, please help me.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any recent changes to your system or software that may have occurred before the issue started.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with saving your files in Trados Studio. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the "Access to the path is denied" error:

    **Step 1:** Check Permissions

    - Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the folder where you're trying to save the file. You may need to run Trados Studio as an administrator. Right-click on the Trados Studio icon and select "Run as administrator."

**Step 2:** Antivirus and Firewall Settings

    - Add Trados Studio to your antivirus and firewall exceptions list. This includes the following paths:

     - `C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados`

     - `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\App Data\Local\Temp`

     - `C:\Program Data\Package Cache\Trados`

     - `C:\Users\%USERNAME%\App Data\Roaming\Trados`

    - Make sure your antivirus is not blocking any temporary files created by Trados.

    **Step 3:** Check Storage Space

    - Verify that there is enough space on your C:\ drive and in the Temp folder. If the Temp folder is full, it may prevent saving.

    **Step 4:** Disable Auto Save

    - Go to `File > Options > Editor` and uncheck "Enable Auto Save." This can sometimes interfere with saving files.

    **Step 5:** Move Project Files

    - If you are saving files in a cloud-synced folder (like OneDrive or Google Drive), try moving your project files to a local folder on your computer. Cloud services can sometimes cause access issues.

**Step 6:** Create a New Temp Folder

    - Create a new folder in the Temp directory. Type `%temp%` in Windows File Explorer, create a new folder named `SDLTemp File Regen`, and try saving your file again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide additional details such as the exact version of Trados Studio you are using and any recent changes to your system or software. This information will help in diagnosing the problem further.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
