SQLite error when attempting to import TMX files into Studio 2011

Hello,

I'm trying to import some .tmx files into an existing memory and the error I am getting is:

The translation memory data file engine returned an error – SQLite error cannot rollback – no transaction is active

What is an SQLite error and what is rollback?

Has anyone seen this before and how can it be corrected?

Thanks

  • Hi Larry,

I haven't come across this before, but it looks like a problem writing to the database. The error and rollback are SQL errors, so not specifically Studio. I think first I'd just try it again, if the same error appears then maybe try upgrading the TMs to form one new one instead. The upgrade might help to resolve the problem. See this for help if you don't know how to do that:

It might also be worth running a TM repair just in case this is the problem. You can use this application for that:

    Maybe something here will help.

    Regards

  • Hello, I have the same problem on my laptop with Trados 2014. When I try to import TMX files into a Trados project, the import itself works but the "quick upgrade" fails. I get the message "The translation data file engine returned an error. SQ Lite error cannot roll back - no transaction is active". Paul's solutions (merging TMs or repairing TMs) did not work. I also tried the TM "custom upgrade" with various options ticked or unticked / importing the TMX into an existing sdltm file / converting the TMX into a TXT file via Oliphant to import it / desinstalling Trados 2014 and resinstalling it. Nothing worked. Can somebody help please?
