SQLite error when attempting to import TMX files into Studio 2011

Question

Hello, 
 
 I'm trying to import some .tmx files into an existing memory and the error I am getting is: 
 
 The translation memory data file engine returned an error &ndash; SQLite error cannot rollback &ndash; no transaction is active 
 
 What is an SQLite error and what is rollback? 
 
 Has anyone seen this before and how can it be corrected?

Hi Larry, 
 
I haven't come across this before, but it looks like a problem writing to the database. The error and rollback are SQL errors, so not specifically Studio. I think first I'd just try it again, if the same error appears then maybe try upgrading the TMs to form one new one instead. The upgrade might help to resolve the problem. Can you share the TMX? Perhaps the problem lies in the file itself? You can zip it and attach it to this post using the "Use rich formatting option" or send it to me directly, pfilkin@sdl.com

ok - in this case we should probably try to repair your Studio installation. Why not try by renaming this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11.0.0.0 
 
If this fails to help try running a repair install through the windows control panel.

But did you do this with the TM you already have? It's unlikely the TMX files will cause that error message, it'll be the SDLTM you are importing into. Anyway, I think we messed around enough already. Please log a case so a support engineer can look at this for you. I'm still not aware of a solution to this rare error. Have you tried saving the alignment to an sdlxliff instead and then using that to update a TM?
