Unable to open sdlxliff files

Question

Hello 
 When I try to open sdlxlif files from another translator, Studio 2014 says there's an error ("D" is an unexpected token. "o" was expected. line 706, position 1.), what can I do to open the files? Thanks in advance for your help

This is most probably an indication that the SDLXLIFF file is somehow corrupted. How did you receive the file? As an attachment to an email? 
 
If yes, ask the sending person to zip the file(s) before sending and attach the ZIP to the email. This will make sure that the file does not get modified. 
 
Text-based files should always be zipped for transmission.
