Verification problem in QA checker SDL Studio 2014

Question

We have a problem with the QA checker in Studio. As you can see below in segment 168, the highlighted (yellow) number does not show up in the QA check. For some reason, number 16 in the target segment is marked (extra number in target segment), but not number 8. Why does not number 8 show up in the error list? How are we supposed to find this mistake if it does not show up as a mistake?

Hi Daniel,

This is an alpha numeric text and not a number. If you wish to find these too you just set up a custom rule using regex to check for the pattern of thread sizes. So look for something like this in the source:

(M[0-9.]+)

Then use the Grouped Search expression to check that the target contains the same thing.

Not too simple for me anyway... but try this: 
 
\S*(\S*([\w]\S*[\d])|([\d]\S*[\w]))\S* 
 
I didn't test it in Studio yet but it works in Regex Buddy, so the principle is correct I think.

Depends what you're testing. If the source and target don't match then this won't report anything. Maybe you need to check whether source matches but target doesn't?

ok - now that I tested it I see what you did wrong. You enter it like this in Studio: 
 
 Then it seems to work perfectly.
